Just published this summer,
"Kamchatka: World of Wild Nature"
offers an absolutely stunning collection
of photographs that, page after page, reveal
the beauty, diversity, and charm of Kamchatka.
The album is the culmination of years of
travel and photography across the peninsula
by three Kamchatkan scientists/naturalists:
one an ornithologist, the second a geologist,
and the third a biologist with the Kronotsky
Biosphere Reserve. Their work gave
them the opportunity to travel throughout
the peninsula and get amazing, close-up
shots of the peninsula's animals and natural
phenomena.
Dual language, Russian-English text, written
by all three scientists, gives poetic expression
to the breathtaking images.
Expansive and printed with superb quality,
Kamchatka: World of Wild Nature
will undoubtedly become Kamchatka's trademark
coffee table album.
Avacha Bay is pleased to offer
this album for the first time outside of
Russia.
Publisher's Comments
Rich, unique photographs of
Kamchatka's primordial environment dramatically
and beautifully color the world of the peninsula's
inhabitants - sea birds and whales, Steller
Sea Eagles and salmon, bears and reindeer.
The album's authors - professional scientists
and naturalists, longtime residents of the
peninsula - used their knowledge and experience
to make available to the wider public priceless
scenes of Kamchatka's wild nature.
Their personal comments, accompanying the
photographs, add lyrical impression to the
book.
